UPDATE, December 8: Work to remove the platforms on Burns Beach Road has been completed ahead of schedule and the road has reopened to nightly westbound traffic.
A SECTION of Burns Beach Road will be closed on weeknights during December.
Temporary construction platforms from the Burns Beach Road bridge are being removed as part of works on the Mitchell Freeway extension project.
Main Roads has advised that to do this, the road between the freeway on and off ramps will be closed to westbound traffic on weeknights between 8pm and 5am from December 5 to 14.
Burns Beach Road eastbound and its on and off ramps will remain open but with reduced speed limits and possible single lane closures.
Detours are recommended via the freeway and Shenton Avenue or by using Joondalup, Moore and Connolly drives.
There will also be lane closures and a reduced speed limit in place on intermittent nights from 7pm to 5am until December 23 along Burns Beach Road between the freeway on and off-ramps, the northbound off ramp and southbound on ramp.
