Cr Poliwka said while other candidates’ signs were also receiving some damage, he felt his were being “predominantly targeted”.

He has also reported the issue to police after being made aware of someone allegedly removing his signs from Woodvale and putting them in a car boot with several others.

The election will be held on October 19.
