Car crashes into Joondalup Health Campus

A CAR has crashed into Joondalup Health Campus near the entrance, injuring six people, with three in a serious condition.

A Joondalup Health Campus spokeswoman said those being treated included the driver (a woman in her 80s), a staff member and patients waiting to be discharged.

The incident happened about 12.05pm when a Ford Focus hatchback crashed through the entrance of the therapy building next to the reception area.

Police said three people were in a serious but stable condition and two others were in a stable condition.

The driver was not seriously injured.

There was not believed to be anyone with life-threatening ailments.

Emergency personnel are on scene.

“JHC has well-rehearsed procedures for dealing with major incidents and is working with the State Health Emergency Operations Centre as part of coordinated WA Health response,” the hospital spokeswoman said.

“The ED remains operational and the hospital is not on diversion.”
