Cause of Warwick Hamersley bushfire suspicious, DFES says

SEVERE fire danger conditions at the start of the week had 40 career and volunteer firefighters attend a suspicious bushfire in Warwick and Hamersley on Monday.

Emergency services received a report of the fire in Warwick Open Space, near the intersection of Beach and Erindale roads about 11am.

It burnt through about 4ha, prompting the Department of Fire and Emergency Services to advise people in the area to be alert and motorists to slow down due to smoke.
