CHILDREN will be ‘on safari’ when the Little Feet Festival returns to Joondalup on October 21.

The free festival for children aged 12 and under will take young explorers on a safari adventure around ECU’s campus near the Pines Picture Garden.

It will again kickstart the City’s summer events program with about 8000 people expected to attend this year’s festival with more families coming from outside the region each year.

After collecting a passport on arrival, kids can venture deep into the jungle to discover animals in their natural habitats through activities, art workshops and performances.

They can make animal puppets or safari hats, take part in various zoo games or just sit back, relax and listen to jungle stories.

Face painting, balloons and bubbles will be throughout the event site and patrons are encouraged to stop by the junior wild vet hospital, safari truck and butterfly house. Children and their parents can also take part in an animal yoga and zoo class and there will be an area dedicated to toddlers.

The event runs from 1pm to 5pm and food and drink will be available to buy.
