“It’s been very pleasing to see how young people involved in the City’s Freestyle Edge dance program have taken ownership of this event, getting involved in various aspects of its delivery,” Mayor Albert Jacob said.

“As well as contributing their ideas on the event name, marketing collateral, prizes, format of proceedings and the like, some have volunteered their time to help out on the night itself.”

The Break Thru All Styles Dance Battle will be fully supervised and drug, alcohol and smoke-free.

The City secured a $5000 Youth Engagement Grant from the Department of Communities to host the dance competition.
