City of Joondalup adopts law to manage waste

THE City of Joondalup has adopted its waste local law.

Last November, the council voted to advertise the draft law for public consultation.

The City received four submissions, which resulted in minor amendments.

A document from last week’s council meeting said the changes made were not significant and would not require the law-making process to restart.

The law aims to regulate, control and manage waste services within the local government area while also supporting the goals of the City’s Waste Management Plan 2016-2021.
