City of Joondalup encouraging community to report graffiti

Tyler BrownJoondalup Times

THE City of Joondalup is encouraging the community to report graffiti through its website.

The City has received a State Graffiti Fund grant to go towards a promotional campaign aimed at raising awareness about graffiti prevention in the local community.

Reported graffiti is removed from City-controlled property and, with the owner’s permission, can be removed from private residential properties and from commercial properties when it is visible from public space.

The City’s contractor will remove graffiti within two working days after receiving the report, or one working day if the graffiti is offensive, and all cases are reported to the WA Police Goodbye Graffiti database.

The City also encourages local residents witnessing antisocial behaviour and graffiti damage to immediately contact police on 131 444, City Rangers on 1300 655 860 or Graffiti Control on 9400 4528.
