City of Joondalup pair praised for their contributions

A JOONDALUP councillor and City officer were recently recognised for their contribution to local government.

At this month’s meeting, Mayor Troy Pickard announced Cr Russ Fishwick had been acknowledged at Local Government Managers Australia WA’s annual state conference “for his services to local government over the past 38 years”.

“Cr Fishwick started as an administration officer at the City of Perth back in 1978 and is one of the select few professional officers who is also an elected member,” Mr Pickard said.

He also congratulated asset management acting manager Sheree Edmondson who won the Emerging Leader of the Year award “for her leadership skills and commitment to excellence”.

“During her time at the City, Sheree has led complex programs that have been innovative in approached and benchmarked as best practice by other local governments,” Mr Pickard said.
