City of Joondalup Valentine’s Concert: artists given licence to thrill

Justin BianchiniJoondalup Times

AUSSIE performer Kate Ceberano will join tenor Michael Falzon and the WA Symphony Orchestra to perform the music of James Bond for the City of Joondalup’s annual Valentine’s Concert in February.

A capacity audience of 8000 people is expected to attend the free concert for City residents on February 16 at Joondalup Resort, and hear songs from the 007 film series such as Diamonds are Forever, Goldfinger and Skyfall.

Ceberano, who in a decorated career has released 24 albums over 30 years, became the first Australian woman to be inducted into the Australian Songwriters’ Association Hall of Fame.

Falzon’s breakthrough role came in 2003 when he was hand-picked by Ben Elton and Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor to star in We Will Rock You.

Falzon starred in The Music of Queen: A Rock and Symphonic Spectacular for the 2014 Valentine’s Concert.

“What a night we had last time I was in Joondalup,” he said.

“To be returning with the beautiful Kate Ceberano and the remarkable WASO after our sell-out concerts last year; well, it will be a blending of two wonderful memories of my time in WA.”

A limit of four tickets per household will apply.

Tickets to the concert are only available to City of Joondalup residents and ratepayers aged 18 and over.

Tickets may be collected from 8am to 11am (or until sold out) on Saturday, January 14, from the City offices, at the Craigie Leisure Centre or the Whitford Customer Service Centre at 15 Banks Avenue, Hillarys.
