THE City of Joondalup’s inaugural Skate Park Festival kicks off this weekend.

As well as BMX, skate and scooter competitions for 12 to 18-year-olds, there will be rides, art workshops, demonstrations and giveaways.

The festival series will start at Carine Skate Park on Sunday before heading to Kinross Skate Park on February 18 and Mirror Park Skate Park in Ocean Reef on March 4, with each event running from 1pm to 5pm.

Competition entrants can compete at their local park or enter the festival series and compete across the three events in their category for a chance to be crowned Skate Park Festival champion.

Cost to enter is $2.50 for one event or $7.50 for all three.

A registration form must be completed and if aged under 18, it must be signed by a parent or guardian.

All competitors must wear a helmet.
