CONSTRUCTION has started on a significant section of the coastal path between Burns Beach and Mindarie.

Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob, Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts and Burns Beach MLA Mark Folkard were on site today to take part in a ceremonial sod turning to mark the significant milestone in the 11-year process.

Work is expected to be completed by December.

The State Government has contributed $2 million to the project, with the rest of the costs to be split between the cities of Joondalup and Wanneroo.
