“The vast majority of West Australians support the right for those with terminal illnesses to access medical support to end their pain and suffering and die with dignity,” Ms MacTiernan said.

“The State Government has tabled the final report prepared by the ministerial expert panel on voluntary assisted dying.

“The report outlines how eligible people at the end of their life could access voluntary assisted dying.

“Strong safeguard mechanisms are incorporated to ensure the integrity of the scheme.

“The legislation will only pass if voters demand it.

“This forum provides an opportunity to hear about progress on the legislation, to talk about next steps – and to learn how to ensure your voice is heard in this important discussion.”
