Crowds gather for opening of Whitford City’s new dining and entertainment precinct
A CROWD of shoppers gathered at Westfield Whitford City yesterday, excited to get a first look at the new dining and entertainment precinct.
The official launch included free food and beer samples, live music and a light show, with all but two of the new eateries opening their doors to customers.
We took our Facebook followers for a walk around Westfield Whitford City’s new dining and entertainment precinct just 10 minutes after doors opened to the public.
Scentre Group chief operating officer Greg Miles said the $80 million redevelopment was “a stark difference to what was here before”.
“We hope this will be a very special place for the community,” he said.
The centre will now look to stage two of its redevelopment, which include the addition of a David Jones department store.
The moment the doors to the much anticipated revamped dining and entertainment precinct opened to the public.
