CURRAMBINE Community Centre was filled with festive cheer when Connolly Primary School students entertained Brightwater clients.
The organisation held a free Christmas event for its at-home-care clients, with students performing a range of carols and a rendition of Singin’ in the Rain, complete with decorated umbrellas.
Brightwater At Home acting manager Toni Jackson said the older people particularly enjoyed connecting with children at this time of year.
“Many people who have support at home often don’t have family who live nearby, or their spouse needs support as well,” she said.
“They can find the festive season a time of isolation.
“Home care workers are often their link to the wider world at this time of the year, bringing companionship, domestic assistance and medical support over the holiday period.”
