Currambine: seniors invited to special screening of Jasper Jones

Tyler BrownJoondalup Times

LOCAL seniors are encouraged to take a trip to the cinema next week for a special screening of Jasper Jones.

Grand Cinemas Currambine and Madman Films are hosting a Devonshire morning tea at 10am before the advanced screening at 11am on February 24.

“Grand Cinemas recognises that members of the senior community sometimes don’t always have a friend or loved one to come to the movies with,” 2IC manager Lou Jamieson said.

“The aim is to provide an environment for seniors not only to come to the movies but to also interact with others and develop new friendships.

“The morning tea will provide this opportunity for those who are living on their own or who have limited contact with family and friends.

“We have some seniors that come to the cinema and some days, the only person they talk to is the crew that work here; we want to try and improve their mornings a little.”

Cost is $10 for Silver Screen members and $12 for WA Seniors Card holders.

Grand Cinemas Currambine plans to continue this initiative with more Seniors Silver Mornings in the future.
