TWO local residents were recently recognised at Curtin University’s School of Education awards night.

Connolly’s Rebecca Johns, who studied early childhood education, was presented with the Miles Medal Award for excellence in education.

This was awarded to the school’s pre-service graduate who achieved excellence in overall academic performance during the course.

Sarah Smith, of Kallaroo, was presented with the WA Secondary School Executives Association Award.

This award is presented to a graduate from the Bachelor of Education (Secondary) degree course who has demonstrated the highest level of academic performance and teaching competency.
