Dad in Urban Couture show by design

The 26-year-old, who grew up on a farm in Dandaragan and has just completed a course in fashion and textile design, will have several garments modelled on March 2 as part of the City of Joondalup’s sixth annual Urban Couture program.

“I lost my dad two years ago,” she said. “The show will be a moment of clarity and remembrance for the love of my father.

“He was well known and a highly-regarded farmer in Dandaragan. He was such a good community figure; everyone looked up to him.”

Campbell’s work is titled Solace, and includes five large-scale, hand-printed silks in an Urban Couture exhibition until March 20 at Joondalup Art Gallery.

The runway show, which is open to the public, will be at the City of Joondalup’s new multi-storey carpark in Reid Promenade.
