Duncraig: Davallia PS admin member recognised with award for outstanding work

CANDI Nelson has been recognised for her “exemplary” commitment to the staff, students and community of Davallia Primary School.

She recently received WA Education Corporate Service Staff Association’s 2017 Outstanding Administrative Support Officer Award.

Associate principal Mark Leaning said Ms Nelson’s role was diverse and “spans well beyond the expectations”.

“She has been an integral member of the administration team at Davallia Primary School for eight years,” he said.

“Her dedication to and impact within her role has realised significant benefit to our school community.”

Mr Leaning said Ms Nelson had additional responsibilities that included “marketing, staff and community induction, wellbeing and pastoral care, fundraising, professional development, staff selection, mentoring and information technology and communications”.

“In many cases, Candi is the first contact point for new parents to Davallia Primary School,” he said.

“Her corporate, yet caring and welcoming approach sees all who come in contact with her feel completely comfortable and engaged.

“Further to this, Candi’s in-depth understanding of school operations, policy and practice allows her to provide outstanding support to all of the Davallia Primary School community.

“She is acknowledged as a leader amongst the staff and community and her involvement in programs and activities at the school is well known and well regarded.”
