A HOSPITAL-based early parenting centre in Duncraig will welcome its first families on May 2.
Glengarry Private Hospital has expanded to provide the support service for parents and babies from six weeks to 12 months old.
Glengarry, owned by Ramsay Health Care, has purpose-built the centre to help parents overcome common challenges associated with early parenting, such as sleep and settling, feeding, reflux, colic and parental exhaustion.

The centre’s four-night residential program includes a paediatric consultation on admission and personalised support from nurses experienced in maternity, child health and infant development.
It will also offer group education sessions on relevant early parenting topics and specialist referrals to psychologists and psychiatrists if needed.
Following an official launch this month, Glengarry chief executive Leonie Gardiner said the centre heralded an exciting phase for the hospital, complementing existing maternity, endoscopy, palliative care, surgical, rehabilitation and medical services.
“There is a significant demand for early parenting services, particularly around the issue of infant sleep and settling routines,” she said.
“We are proud to offer local families this level of education and support within a nurturing, comfortable environment.”
