ECU Joondalup nursing student receives grant

Laura PondJoondalup Times

A JOONDALUP nursing student has won a $1000 grant from a women’s service club.

The Zonta Club of Perth Northern Suburbs recently presented Edith Cowan University second-year nursing student Teagan Bewick with the Lucy Bohan Nursing Bursary.

Service committee member Susan Pertile said Ms Bewick was chosen because of her dedication to “be the best she can”.

“Her marks are so high that she was selected by the Dean of Nursing to be an ECU student ambassador,” she said.

“Teagan’s energy, dedication and compassion will make her a great nurse.”

Ms Bewick intends to use the money to volunteer at a Cambodian hospital next year.

The bursary was named after former club president and nurse Lucy Bohan and is offered to female nursing students who have completed their first year of study.
