ECU plans to develop office accommodation on Joondalup land

EDITH Cowan University has plans to develop office accommodation on its land in Joondalup.

Vice-president Scott Henderson said recent changes to the Edith Cowan University Act gave it the option of developing its freehold land for purposes other than education.

“Our intention is to invest in the growth of the Joondalup city centre by developing an iconic office accommodation precinct on land between Grand Boulevard and Collier Pass,” he said.

“In the long term, this initiative will create space for over 5000 office workers in the centre of the city ideally located opposite the train station and Lakeside Joondalup shopping centre.”

The news coincided with a State Government announcement this month that it would introduce legislative changes to the strata titles system.
