ECU Professor Di Twigg has been recognised for her leadership and service to nursing in this year’s Australia Day Honours list.
Professor Twigg was among more than 1100 Australians to be honoured in the largest Australia Day list in history.
The Executive Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia by the Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove.
“I am so overwhelmed, excited and honoured,” Professor Twigg said.
Prior to joining ECU, her career in nursing, research and health service leadership included being the nursing services executive director at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
She is also a member of the Child and Adolescent Health Services Board and the National Nursing and Midwifery Education Advisory Network.
