TWO Edgewater youngsters danced their way to the top last month.

Bailey Perrie (12) and Abigail Pedley (14) from Denise Dancing School in Joondalup took out two of the four awards at a Dance Masters International Association competition.

Pedley received the Personality Award while Perrie won The Rising Star Award, which Pedley won two years ago.

“To win these awards is a great achievement as it’s not just judged on one dance but it’s taken over the whole day’s event,” school owner Denise Mantle said.

“Therefore, of all the girls aged 12 and under, Bailey was awarded as the most promising rising star and Abi was Miss Personality as showing the best artistic quality in various categories of dance.

“Both girls were thrilled to receive these awards and their parents were very proud.

“I felt we had worked hard and it was fabulous to be honoured with not one but two great awards.”

Perrie said she was “very surprised and happy” to win the award and it was a real boost for her confidence.

Pedley said she never expected “such a fabulous award” but was “so happy” to receive it.
