A 96-YEAR-old man was fortunate to escape injury when the vehicle he was driving crashed through the wall of a Kinross pharmacy on Monday.

Police said the man accidentally pressed the accelerator of the Toyota Rav 4 instead of the brake in a parking bay at the Edinburgh Avenue outlet about 4.20pm.

An SES unit and fire fighters were called to assist in the removal of the vehicle, which took more than two hours.
