END of Fashion frontman Justin Burford will join more than 350 voices singing the hits of rock music icons Queen for this year’s Community Choral Project.

Burford has spent the past few years playing the lead role in the Australian production of the Broadway hit musical Rock of Ages and has joined the City of Joondalup project for this year’s performance.

Accompanying him will be local performer Shel Lambeck who auditioned for a solo spot after singing in the choir for three years previously.

Rehearsals have been held for the past seven weeks in the lead-up to the Joondalup Festival from March 23 to 25.

Songs will include Somebody to Love, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You, accompanied by a five-piece band set to a visual background of projections by artist Roly Skender.

“The City’s Community Choral Project is one of the most exciting community arts projects in Perth,” Mayor Albert Jacob said. “It provides people of all ages with the opportunity to develop new skills, learn from some of the best musicians in WA and connect with their community.

“We are very excited to have End of Fashion’s Justin Burford taking part this year; he will bring a magical ingredient to the show and we look forward to it being one of our best yet.”

The event will take place in Central Park at 7pm on March 23 and 25.
