STUDENTS attending a Hillarys camp can learn bike skills at its recently opened pump track.

The 200m long track at the Department of Sport and Recreation’s Ern Halliday Recreation Camp is designed for novice and advanced riders.

Track project co-ordinator Matt Grace said it would play an important role in introducing cycling and mountain bike riding to young West Australians.

“Through the pump track we hope thousands of young people develop a passion for riding in the outdoors and can engage with their local mountain biking club and enjoy riding trails other pump tracks around the state,” he said.

The track was designed and built by Three Chillies Trail Design and has two tracks with elements suitable for all ages.
