Car explosion a rude awakening for Joondalup Resort guests

Mark DonaldsonJoondalup Times

Resort guests were startled overnight between August 26 and 27 when a high-powered vehicle exploded after being set alight in the carpark.

The burnt-out shell of the sedan cast an incongruous presence at the 4.5 star resort in Connolly on the Thursday.

Joondalup Senior Ser-geant Craig Wanstall said it had been an unusual matter, with the vehicle thought to have been stolen from Banksia Grove or Clarkson about a year ago.
