Faces of local talent light up marketing campaign

Tyler BrownJoondalup Times

LOCAL residents are the faces of this year’s Joondalup Festival marketing campaign.

Held on March 19 and 20, the festival theme of Oh, the Places You’ll Go! will aim to get people thinking about their childhood dreams, consider their passions and create new aspirations.

In October, the City of Joondalup called for expressions of interest from local talent who were interested in taking part in the promotional campaign for the festival.

The chosen participants – Veronica Lowe, Poppy Bloor, Anne-Marie Mullaney, Luke Thornley, Opal Young and Louis-John Alsford – will feature in a series of blackboard scenarios surrounded by drawings of their dreams.

For example, Louis-John’s dream is to travel the world in a plane built by the Wright Brothers so he appears on the blackboard as an aeroplane flying through the sky.

City of Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard said the idea behind the marketing campaign was to keep local residents connected to the festival which, for the past two years, has been named the best community event in WA.

The 18th annual Joondalup Festival will be held on Saturday, March 19, from 2pm to 10pm and Sunday March 20 from noon to 7pm.
