Families create bird sculptures at Heathridge workshops

COMMUNITY Arts Network and Djinda Falcons held workshops to create sculptures and poems for Naidoc Week in Heathridge this week.

The Boola-Boola Birds project, held in collaboration with The Spiers Centre, involved families from the Aboriginal youth football program.

Participants in the free workshops at Heathridge Park on April 15, 16 and 17 created bird sculptures and poems for the Naidoc Week celebrations in July.

They also enjoyed storytelling with Aunty Leisha and Uncle Walter Eatts, learnt Noongar bird words with Carol Foley, and had footy skill sessions with WA Football League.
