Families needed across Perth to host international exchange students

Tyler BrownJoondalup Times

FAMILIES are needed to host international exchange students.

Gold Intercultural Learning is organising several Japanese exchange trips this month and is “desperately seeking” more families to help.

“Everyone is welcome to host and you don’t have to have a child studying at the school,” homestay co-ordinator Sally Tam said.

“It is as simple as involving your student in your daily routine – invite them to join you when you take the dog for a walk, attend dance practice or make dinner.

“As a host you will receive a visit from our friendly staff, 24-hour bilingual support and payment.”

Ms Tam said exchange programs were about developing “inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better world through intercultural understanding and respect”.
