MOORE Labor candidate Tony O’Gorman has pledged $150,000 towards building a skate park in Woodvale if his party wins the Federal Election this weekend.

The funding follows a petition presented last year to the City of Joondalup requesting a skate park at Chichester Park.

The campaign was spearheaded by a trio of young Woodvale residents aged 9-12, with support from Kingsley MLA Jessica Stojkovski, who each wrote to the State Government to lobby for a skate park closer to home and to school.

Mr O’Gorman said a Woodvale skate park would be “an important facility that will get lots of kids active and outside”.

The City of Joondalup has two skate park facilities at Mirror Park in Ocean Reed and Kinross Skate Park.
