Kidzucate Anti-Bullying Fundraiser

Laura PondJoondalup Times

SANTA joined Burns Beach residents for a fundraiser over Christmas.

About 150 people gathered at Stage Teal Park on December 21 for a screening of Australian film Paper Planes to raise money for anti-bullying organisation Kidzucate.

Attendees enjoyed a picnic prior to the movie and Santa visited, bearing sweet treats for children.

The event raised $578 for the charity, which was established by Burns Beach girl Sian Williams (9) and her mother Azelene, and developer Peet assisted with some of the costs of staging the event.

Mrs Williams said they were happy with the turnout for the inaugural movie night.

“The bowl-shaped area in the park is ideal for this type of event,” she said.

“Everyone seemed to enjoy the night and I was really pleased that they tidied up afterwards.”
