Fire guts Heathridge home

UPDATE: POLICE are treating the Heathridge house fire as suspicious.

No one was home at the time but there was a car in the driveway.

It is believed the fire started at the rear of the property before most of the roof caved in.

EARLIER: A HEATHRIDGE home was gutted by fire overnight.

Emergency crews were called to the home on the corner of Prince Regent Drive and Marmion Avenue after the fire was reported at 1.55am.

It took firefighters about 45 minutes to get the blaze under control, with most of the roof caved in.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but the damage bill is estimated at $350,000.
