Fire at Mindarie Marina guts luxury 42-foot Riviera boat, damages two others

A BOAT fire at Mindarie Marina has caused an estimated $250,000 worth of damage to a 42-foot Riviera yacht, and damaged two 40-foot vessels on either side.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services was called to the marina at 6.13am, where they found the vessel ablaze.

Eight firefighters attended the scene in breathing apparatus, and had the blaze under control by 6.49am.

By 7.22am the fire was extinguished but not before it had caused an estimated $50,000 worth of damage to two 40-foot boats moored on either side of the vessel.

UPDATE, January 25: The fire reignited on the boat at the dry dock near Hillarys Marina about 4am today. DFES are investigating the cause of both fires.
