“An incentive is being given them to get sponsors on board for the $7 a week for four weeks and a monetary prize is being given to the biggest fundraiser.”

The Padbury resident said there would also be donation tins at the end of each counter.

The Lions club will channel funds raised to cerebral palsy support associations to supply mobility devices and walkers for children with the physical disability.

Secretary Robert Bates said it empowered children who could not walk unassisted to reach their potential, getting them out of wheelchairs and onto their feet so that they were able to walk, play, explore and socialise.

“This makes them stronger – physically, emotionally and mentally,” he said.
