Funding sought for shelter

Vice-president Brett Walton, who recently invited Cowan MHR Luke Simpkins to the club, said more shelter has long been needed for people watching the seniors and juniors play.

Were looking into shelter options and working with Mr Simpkins on applying for a Federal grant, he said.

Community groups can apply for grants between $5000 and $20,000 under the Stronger Communities program. Kingsley would have to show it could match the funding.

The club is coming off its recent community day, attended by about 300 people.

Organisers John Logan and Keith Pearce plan to make it an annual event. The community day included a golden oldies legends match and a game between the Greenwood and Creaney primary schools.

Whitford Football Club was too slick for Kingsley in the legends and Greenwood got the wood on the Creaney school of Kingsley.
