Girrawheen man charged after money, weapons and drugs discovered during search

POLICE have laid a series of charges, many of them drug-related, against a 38-year-old man and seized over $35,000 in cash after executing search warrants this week.

Detectives have conducted investigations in recent weeks which resulted in the seizure of 160g of methamphetamine and on Tuesday, executed search warrants in Balga and Girrawheen which led to money being seized and charges laid.

The 38-year-old man from Girrawheen was charged with 19 offences all up, including five counts of selling a prohibited drug, two counts of offering to sell or supply a prohibited drug, two counts of possessing methamphetamine with intent to sell or supply and two counts of possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property

He was also charged with possessing drug paraphernalia containing a prohibited drug, cannabis possession, unlawfully possessing a controlled or prescription drug, heroin possession and possessing heroin with an intent to supply or sell.

Police also charged him with having ready access to both weapons and cash, having ready access to both weapons and illegal drugs and failing to comply with requirements of a police officer.

He will next appear in Perth Magistrates Court on September 26.
