Spiers Centre giving gift of hope

Laura PondJoondalup Times

As part of its annual Christmas appeal, the Heathridge organisation wants people to donate non-perishable foods and gifts for hampers that will be distributed to disadvantaged residents in the cities of Joondalup, Wanneroo and Stirling.

Last year’s appeal provided 347 Christmas hampers, which fed 535 adults and 612 children.

Spiers Centre chief executive Helena Jakupovic said most people who received hampers were struggling financially.

“It’s just a little way of providing someone with a bit of hope,” she said.
