Police spokeswoman Susan Usher said officers had stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Warwick and Wanneroo roads when the alleged offender’s car drove into the back of it.
“It will be alleged as the officers spoke to the driver, they observed a handgun in the centre console of the vehicle,” she said.
Ms Usher said the officers also seized credit cards and other property they allege was stolen.
