ANNIVERSARY celebrations will turn fluorescent at a Kingsley primary school this month.

Halidon Primary School will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a fluoro-themed fete on November 19 and is inviting the wider community to get involved.

P&C member Marnie Delauney said the celebration would take people back to the 1980s, when the school started and fluoro was fashionable.

“As the school was established in 1986 we have decided to embrace fluoro and invite the kids (and adults if they like) to wear fluoro as a fun flashback to the ‘80s,” she said.

“It is the 30th anniversary year for the West Coast Eagles too and they have kindly donated an Eagles kicking cube for the kids and adults to test their skills.

“We have had some fantastic prizes donated such as accommodation packages, framed Perth Wildcats 2016 NBL Champions signed basketball and jersey, guitar package and Perth Heat baseball gear.

“We have been absolutely spoilt by businesses with amazing prizes – meal, beauty, podiatry, entertainment, etc.”

The event will help raise funds for a Naturescape playground at the school.

A variety of stalls will include Christmas craft, popcorn, a photo booth, op shop stall, play dough, books, lolly bags, face painting, crazy hair, mystery jars, sideshow alley games, plants, cakes and high tea, a dunking machine and chocolate toss game.

There will also be food vans, pony rides, animal petting zoo, a giant blow-up slide, bucking bull, bouncy castle, basketball, massages, raffles and a silent auction.

Former student Amy Ehlers will perform live, and others who will be there include Constable Care and Perth Glory’s mascot George the Gorilla.

Entry to the Halidon Primary School 30th anniversary fete, which will run from 10am to 3pm, will be free. Visit www.facebook.com/HalidonPrimarySchool30thAnniversaryFete2016/ for more information.
