HARMONY Day celebrations filled Eddystone Primary School in Heathridge last Tuesday.
Deputy principal Alec Kanganas said appreciating other cultures was “highly important” in the multicultural school, which hosts an intensive English centre for 110 children.
“With the mainstream classes, our school population comprises approximately 40 nationalities,” he said.
“The children work and play constructively and are very happy.
“Our diversity makes our school a great place to work and play in.”
In the lead up to Harmony Day on Wednesday, March 21, the school invited the Perth Rainbow Performance Club to present a Chinese fan dance.
Education assistant June Liu then sang a traditional Chinese opera.
Children also coloured and decorated hand prints to make a harmony tree.
