STUDENTS at a Heathridge school learnt to fly drones during National Science Week.

Staff from Airscope Industries visited Eddystone Primary School with several drones to coincide with the week’s theme of drones, droids and robotics.

Teacher Hayley Stinson said it formed part of the school’s STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) program.

“Students engaged in hands-on piloting and technical talks, including the science behind what makes a drone fly and how drones are being used,” she said.

“The drones visit was for students to explore this new technology with expert engineers and pilots from Airscope Industries, who volunteered their time as they believe the students are the future.”
