THE grim spate of motorcycle deaths on local roads has continued with a rider dead after a crash involving multiple cars in Heathridge this afternoon.
The man is the fourth motorcyclist killed in the cities of Joondalup and Wanneroo since September.
The collision happened on Hodges Drive near Caridean Street about 3.40pm.
Officers have closed a section of Hodges Drive near the scene, where a motorcycle and vehicles remain badly damaged.

The fatality comes less than a month after police made a plea through the Joondalup Times for motorcycle safety in the district.
As well as the four deaths, there have been at least another three crashes in which riders have been seriously injured since September.
