CALIFORNIA Pizza Kitchen, which replaces Jetty’s Restaurant at Hillarys Boat Harbour, has given jobs to 80 young people from the northern suburbs.
The employees have recently had intensive training from 12 CPK trainers who flew from the US to help with this Friday’s launch of its first restaurant in Australia.
With 300 restaurants operating in 16 countries, the Hillarys restaurant will be the largest CPK in the world with 105 staff and a 370-seat capacity.
“We are delighted to have recruited 80 young people from throughout the northern suburbs of Perth who are highly enthusiastic and really excited to be part of introducing an entirely new dining experience to Australia,” CPK director Hannah Peard said.
“Being just 24 myself, I share excitement and also understand the value of gaining employment experience at an early age since I began my catering career at just 14.
“During my university degree, I worked in hospitality and I am delighted that many of our younger staff are following the same path.
“This CPK restaurant in Hillarys is the first of several that are planned to be opened throughout Australia in the near future and these new restaurants are expected to create hundreds of more job opportunities for young people.”
