Hillarys: police investigating knife attacks

TWO men allegedly attacked a 75-year-old man with a knife in his car in Hillarys before travelling to Sorrento and seriously assaulting a 48-year-old man on Saturday.

Police said the older man was sitting in his car at Hillarys Boat Harbour about 1.40pm when two men allegedly stepped into the car and asked for a cigarette lighter.

They are accused of assaulting the man with a knife causing serious injuries to his face and arms.

He was treated in Royal Perth Hospital.

Just after 1.55pm, the men allegedly accosted a man on Ashmore Drive in Sorrento while he was unloading sand from a ute.

One of the men is accused of attacking the man, resulting in a broken eye socket and skull fractures.

He was treated in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

Police charged a Banksia Grove man (23) with aggravated grievous bodily harm and grievous bodily harm.

Officers are investigating two other men.
