Hillarys Yacht Club stalwarts celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

MORE than 50 family members and friends joined Hillarys couple Charles (Chick) and Pat Hoath to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary this month.

Well-wishers came from around the State and Australia to be part of the occasion at Hillarys Yacht Club on January 13.

Attendees included the couple’s four sons, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr and Mrs Hoath first met at a dance in Darwin in 1955, when he was in the RAAF and she was a teacher.

They married in Perth in 1957 and moved around the country to various air force bases.

The family of six returned to Perth in 1972, settling in Mullaloo, where the Hoaths joined the Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club, then Hillarys Yacht Club.

They have been members of the yacht club for more than 30 years and Mr Hoath was made a life member in 2002.
