The mother-of-three won Peet’s Superstar House Swap competition for flights to the US, $5000 and a week’s stay at Chateau Marmont on Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood.
She was blown away when she took the winner’s call.
“I was sitting in the car listening to the radio and they’re saying they are calling the winner now and my phone is ringing – they were calling me,” Mrs Makepeace said. “It was just surreal.”
She and husband Mark depart for Hollywood in May 2016, in time to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary.

It will be the couple’s first US visit so they are planning an extended five-week trip.
“A $35,000 holiday for our 35th anniversary… it spins me out just thinking about it,” Mrs Makepeace said.
