UPDATE: Homicide Squad detectives have released a 30-year-old man without charge following their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his 30s in Manapouri Meander in Joondalup.

HOMICIDE Squad detectives are investigating a death in Joondalup early this morning.

Just before 12.30am police and St John Ambulance were called to a disturbance in Manapouri Meander.

A man was found at the residence and was taken to Joondalup Health Campus where he died.

Neighbours have told several news outlets that the other man came over in a bid to calm the situation down but the pair became embroiled in a fight.

Locals said the deceased man then collapsed in the driveway, possibly from a heart attack.

Four children who live at the house reportedly became distressed and screamed as the incident unfolded, and their mother tried to resuscitate the stricken man.

Police are yet to confirm those details but said the men were known to each other, were both aged in their 30s and the survivor was assisting with inquiries.

The homicide squad is investigating.
