FROM Las Vegas to Joondalup, Australian music icons and ARIA Hall of Famers Human Nature brought the love to a sold-out audience with its Motown and More show at the City of Joondalup’s 2020 Valentine’s Concert on Thursday.
Backed by their all-star band, the quartet of Andrew Tierney, Mike Tierney, Phil Burton and Toby Allen proved they are still at the top of their game more than 30 years into their career with a performance that had thousands at Joondalup Resort getting to their feet.

Human Nature to bring motown to Valentine’s Concert
Speaking after the show, Allen said it had been a hugely successful evening and a perfect way to celebrate the recent launch of their new music.
“I think we had about 8000 people here and it really felt that everyone was into it and having fun,” he said.
“It’s such a beautiful venue. I actually did a time-lapse video this afternoon of all the crowd coming in – and it looks amazing.”
He said Joondalup Resort was a far different venue to the more intimate shows they had been accustomed to playing in Las Vegas and they had to adapt their show to ensure the enormous crowd, including those at the back of the fairway, felt part of the experience.
After more than three decades Allen said the group was as excited as ever to be performing and recording.
And the good news is there is no sign of them slowing down soon.
“My knees don’t believe I am still going,” he said.
“We’ve come back with new music this year. For Nobody Just Like You to be so well accepted and getting played heaps on radio is exciting.
“It’s exciting to be back in the pop world and original music land.”
Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob said Human Nature had delivered a concert for the ages.
“To have these icons of Australian music perform in our own backyard – exclusively for our community – was an amazing coup for our City,” he said.
“Human Nature has taken this popular cultural event to the next level and we will certainly have our work cut out topping Thursday’s concert in 2021.”
